چکیده

The nuclear factorB (NFB) family is comprised of DNA-binding protein factors that are required for the transcription of most proinflammatory molecules, including adhesion molecules, enzymes, cytokines, and chemokines. Studies performed in a variety of cell and animal based experimental systems suggest that NFB activation is a key event early in the pathobiology of diabetes. The purpose of this review is to summarize the current knowledge about the molecular biology of NFB and to review evidence that implicates NFB in the pathogenesis of diabetes and its associated complications.

Hyperglycemia- Induced NF-κB Activation Increases microRNA-146a Expression in Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells

Background & objectives: Nuclear Factor kappa B (NF-κB), a master switch transcription factor, plays a critical role in the progression and development of hyperglycemia-induced microangiopathy. Hyperglycemia activates NF-κB, and subsequently increases pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-1β leading to development of inflammation. Some new studies have revealed the involvement o...
